Futari Ecchi is an anime that begins where series like Love Hina, Onegai Teacher and the like end. It’s a very well-made fusion of romantic motifs, everyday life, and serious problems of newlyweds. The main characters are no longer schoolchildren or students, but adults. During four episodes we witness typical problems of a typical newlywed couple: how to learn to understand each other and live together, how to solve sexual problems, how not to yield to temptation and not to betray, how to solve problems with work, rest and, of course, with the honeymoon. The action is not overpowering at all, the anime is very easy to watch, largely due to the addition of a good portion of humor and non-boring dialogues. The main character, Yura, is a very kind, sweet and incredibly likable girl. She supports her husband in everything, helps him and is ready for any experiments of a sexual nature. In a way, we can say that Jura is a collective image of an ideal wife, the kind that men can only dream of… Somebody would probably reproach this anime for having too few episodes, at first I thought so too, but after watching it becomes clear that with more episodes this anime could have turned into a boring melodrama, a boring daily routine or a banal hentai. It’s quite obvious, because when all the problems are settled and people gradually get along with each other, ordinary life begins and it’s, I think, just not interesting to watch anymore… In general, Futari Ecchi is a very high quality and beautiful anime, which is definitely worth watching not only for all lovers of romantic anime, but for all fans of quality anime in general.
